Although I'm generally not too fond of California, I have wanted to go to the Coachella music festival ever since I found out about it a couple years ago. The band line-up this year was amazing -- Justice, M.I.A., Hot Chip, Portishead, Kraftwerk... In years past it has been too. And the personal style seen at this festival is really interesting! You can see a lot of high fashion reinvented for street wear, such as the bohemian dresses and printed rompers.
The song on the video below reminded me of a circus and when thinking about the circus I remembered this lovely editorial from vogue italia! So listen to the video as you browse!
Something I've always been interested in is giant squid and deep ocean creatures. Maybe it's because they're so hard to catch in one peice or perhaps that they're so mysterious and live in one of the coolest places on the earth, the bottom of the ocean. The ocean is like another world. Translucent creatures...
Which brings me to my reason of post. This editorial from Numero Tokyo reminds me of the deep ocean. For some reason the photos are a little small, but you can click to enlarge them.
There are some backstage fashion photos that are just blah. You could browse through them without even thinking twice about what your looking at, just blindly passing each photo with your eyes. And there are some that look like fashion editorials themselves, some that have the ability to make you curious and actually wonder what was going on at that moment, some that make you feel like you're there. Some that are art! Chris Anderson for Nylon magazine takes some wonderful backstage photos.
