Reminiscing

Stella McCartney's fall 2008 collection was so great. The cut out dresses, the little bags, the shoes... Mostly the cut out dresses.

Stella McCartney is the daughter of infamous Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

Balmain F 2008

What an exceptionally rock n roll chic collection.

The red leopard pants remind of me a dress I picked up at Betsey Johnson about a year ago with almost the exact same print.

Lions and tigers and bears! Oh, my!

After the tornado hit, and Dorothy stood up and took a look around. She gave a gleeful cry at the delightful clothing surrounding her.

Luella fall 08. I'm not quite sure if the Wizard of Oz help to inspire Luella Bartley with this collection or not, but it kind of reminds me of that.
Some of the outfits were even topped off with witches hats. It seemed like there were three parts of the collection, possibly representing the pair of bad witches, glenda the good witch, and Dorothy.

Sushi

Miu Miu's fall 08 collection reminds me of secret agent swimmers. It also reminds me of exotic sushi fish.

Despite all this I still like it. Take a look at this gorgeous sashimi.

Very eccentric, right? There is no other collection that looks like this, which is fantastic, because there are so many fall collections that are border-line clones. Traces of trends can be seen -- but they're presented quite differently than the norm. Check out the shoulder cut-outs in some of the above photos. You can also see a bit of construction on the gray skirt. There's some minimalism going on, as you can see with the red and black dress.

Givenchy, you had me at hello

From the Fall 08 collection.
Sigh,
shoulder cut-outs, volume, pleats, wicked construction, rock and roll, golds, glamour, and elegance.

Givenchy, I think you're the one.
